Sanjiva Weerawarana, Ph. D
(Founder, Chairman & CEO WSO2)

Sanjiva advices Eureka Technology Partners on Open Source strategy and technologies. After having spent nearly 8 years in IBM Research where he was one of the founders of the Web services platform, Sanjiva founded his own company WSO2. With an equity investment of US$4 Million from Intel Capital WSO2 became the first IT Company in Sri Lanka to attract a major US VC.

Sanjiva has been involved with Open Source software both in IBM and in Apache for several years. In recognition for his contributions to Apache, he was elected as a member of the Apache Software Foundation in 2003. Sanjiva founded the Lanka Software Foundation in Sri Lanka and in recognition of his role in promoting Open Source participation from developing countries; he was elected to the Board of the Open Source Initiative (OSI) in April 2005.

Prior to joining IBM, Sanjiva spent 3 years at Purdue University as visiting faculty, where he received his Ph.D. in Computer Science in 1994.

 
Dan Sandhu

Dan Sandhu, Chairman Vertex India, advices Eureka on raising funds and building its offshore service model. Dan is an energetic business leader with a dogged commitment in people, processes and partnerships. He combines a sharp acumen in seeking business opportunities with a keen hand in commercial and financial controls.

Dan has extensive experience in leading portfolios in business consulting, project, media and BPO businesses across Asia, Europe and the United States. He has been involved in a number of start-ups both in the UK and India, being instrumental in institutional fund raising rounds and managing investor relationships while building the businesses.

As CEO, Vertex India, he led the India business from startup to a team of more than 2,500 and developed a formidable leadership team. He is now Chairman, Vertex (India) and is pursuing other business interests in India.

Mafaz Ishaq
(Board Member)


Mafaz is in Private Equity with the Calamander Group. Prior to that he was the Global Head of IT Audit at Holcim, a Global 500 company. Mafaz advices Eureka on the development of its Global Delivery model for Remote Infrastructure Management Services. At Holcim Mafaz managed a team of Regional IT Auditors covering the globe. Prior to heading the Global IT Audit function, Mafaz was responsible for Holcim’s Asia Pacific IT Services Center for remote IT Infrastructure Management and SAP shared services. The center services nine countries and was responsible for US $1.5 Billion in business.

Mafaz attended school at Harrow in England. He received a BSc in Mechanical Engineering, an MSc in Analysis, Design and Management of Information Systems from the London School of Economics, and an MSc in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas in Austin. He also attended IMD’s program on Building a Smarter Company.
